Nanci’s love of food started as a child growing up in a small Calabrian town in Southern Italy with mom and dad’s pure and simple seasonal cooking.

Daily shopping for food in the local markets and foraging for mushrooms with her dad was, and still is a way of life. Thankfully organizations like slow food aspire to maintain these traditions.

In the past 20+ years she’s had the pleasure and good fortune of opening some of the most loved restaurants, foods shop’s, and catering companies in Toronto. Trattoria Giancarlo, Bar Italia, Ellipsis, Ellipsis Bakery 505 as well as consulting with architects on projects such as The Drake Hotel and The Island Yacht Club.

In 2009 she devoted herself to philanthropic work developing and launching a social innovation project and hospitality arts program for Toronto Community Housing.
